Pledge Statement:

I will not donate to MIT until it divests its endowment from fossil fuels.

Reason for this Pledge:

Current students at MIT can see MIT’s lack of action and accountability on climate firsthand. Despite the immense technological progress and scientific contributions that MIT has made, we know more must be done. MIT continues to jeopardize the future of the planet by lending legitimacy to corrupt and extractive practices that have led to climate change. Until MIT divests its endowment from fossil fuels, we cannot give money freely to MIT in good faith, and pledge to not donate to MIT’s unrestricted fund.
